چکیده

control scheme, in which different time scales for the rigid body subsystem dynamics and for the flexible dynamics are used (Canudas de Wit et al., 1996). An application of the two-time scale method is shown, for example, in Kang, Yeung, and Mills (2002). In summary, the aim of the authors to provide an upperlevel undergraduate and graduate textbook and a reference for experienced professionals in the fields of flexible robot dynamics and controls has been achieved. The book offered me some quite interesting reading. Even if I hope to be quite familiar with the field of robot controls, it is interesting and might be useful to become aware of the wealth of knowledge accumulated during several years of research and development in flexible robots and structures at Sandia National Laboratories. The manner of presentation seems to be comprehensive and a valuable addition to the literature for practitioners and researchers working in control of elastic structures. However, in view of the general title, it would have been useful to include some other aspects of flexible robot controls, and its usefulness will be further enhanced if it is supplemented with literature addressing other results and advanced approaches concerning the analysis and controller synthesis of this complicated system.

Time-Invariant State Feedback Control Laws for a Special Form of Underactuated Nonlinear Systems Using Linear State Bisection

Linear state bisection is introduced as a new method to find time-invariant state feedback control laws for a special form of underactuated nonlinear systems. The specialty of the systems considered is that every unactuated state should be coupled with at least two directly actuated states. The basic idea is based on bisecting actuated states and using linear combinations with adjustable parame...

Robust gain-scheduled control of linear parameter-varying systems with uncertain scheduling parameters in the presence of the time-invariant uncertainties

In this paper, a new approach is presented to design a gain-scheduled state-feedback controller for uncertain linear parameter-varying systems. It is supposed that the state-space matrices of them are the linear combination of the uncertain scheduling parameters. It is assumed that the existed uncertainties are of type of time-invariant parametric uncertainties with specified intervals. Simulta...

Adaptive fuzzy pole placement for stabilization of non-linear systems

A new approach for pole placement of nonlinear systems using state feedback and fuzzy system is proposed. We use a new online fuzzy training method to identify and to obtain a fuzzy model for the unknown nonlinear system using only the system input and output. Then, we linearized this identified model at each sampling time to have an approximate linear time varying system. In order to stabilize...

PD Controller Design with H¥ Performance for Linear Systems with Input Delay

This paper presents H∞ control problem for input-delayed systems. A neutral system approach is considered to the design of PD controller for input delay systems in presence of uncertain time-invariant delay. Using this approach, the resulting closed-loop system turns into a specific time-delay system of neutral type. The significant specification of this neutral system is that its delayed coeff...

Optimal Finite-time Control of Positive Linear Discrete-time Systems

This paper considers solving optimization problem for linear discrete time systems such that closed-loop discrete-time system is positive (i.e., all of its state variables have non-negative values) and also finite-time stable. For this purpose, by considering a quadratic cost function, an optimal controller is designed such that in addition to minimizing the cost function, the positivity proper...

Determining the order of minimal realization of descriptor systems without use of the Weierstrass canonical form

A common method to determine the order of minimal realization of a continuous linear time invariant descriptor system is to decompose it into slow and fast subsystems using the Weierstrass canonical form. The Weierstrass decomposition should be avoided because it is generally an ill-conditioned problem that requires many complex calculations especially for high-dimensional systems. The present ...
